VANCOUVER, B.C. – January 19, 2011 – Spectators of the 2011 Kokanee Crankworx Freeride Mountain Bike Festival, the world renowned supercharged free ride festival, which takes place July 15-24, 2011 in Whistler, BC, will be benefiting from a new mobile event app for smartphones that will give them access to important festival information like event schedules, updated results, area maps and venue information, all in the palm of their hand.
Developed by QuickMobile for iPhone and Android users, the Kokanee Crankworx 2011 Mobile Festival App was specifically designed to improve the experience of the festival spectator The app features links to social media channels, sponsors, photo galleries as well as other useful functionality such as personalized itineraries and updates on festival results. For all other smartphone users there is a mobile website that provides access to many of the same features as the mobile app.
David Snell, QuickMobiles Chief Marketing Officer stated: We are very excited to have been chosen to develop the Mobile Festival App for Kokanee Crankworx this year. Instead of having to carry around a paper Festival Guide during this 9-day sports event, athletes and spectators of this supercharged Mountain Bike Festival will now be able to access all their important festival information by simply downloading the Kokanee Crankworxs Mobile Festival App which was specifically designed to enhance the experience of the festival visitor while providing a greener solution for the event organizer.
Included in the Kokanee Crankworx Mobile Festival App are features such as My Schedule, Social Hub, Polling and Game On, a fully interactive game complete with leaderboard and daily prizes. The app offers a high degree of personalization, interactivity and fun while providing great opportunities to engage, captivate and interact with festival-goers before, during and after the event.
The Kokanee Crankworx app will be an invaluable resource to stay on top of the non-stop action of our ten-day event whether you are looking for event information or where to find the next party, says Darren Kinnaird, Kokanee Crankworx General Manager. Even if you arent on the ground in Whistler, people will be able to live through Kokanee Crankworx vicariously with the app by tuning into the constant social media engagement, checking out our user-generated photo galleries and videos on demand, not to mention watching our daily live streaming event webcasts with freecaster.tv.
